Apparently Rei shows emotions while chibi. :>

There's definitely something fun about old school giant mecha anime. Especially a series like GaoGaiGar which was the last of the King Brave series. (Also a part of the great five different robots/vehicles combine to get a giant robot series.)

I can't wait until Media Blasters releases a boxset for GaoGaiGar. It's just great fun to watch it, and it does have a neat little plot.

Though it could be because of the fun way the series conducts itself. ^_^

I want volume four! It was just starting to get really good and it kinda cliffhanged with something wrong with GaoGaiGar.

Okies, my more music-searching savvy friends!

I'm looking for MP3s of the drama tracks to the Fafner soundtracks. These soundtracks were released to the US by Geneon but they did not have the 2nd disc where the drama tracks were on. The CD names are Fafner in the Azure OST 01 'No Where' and Fafner in the Azure OST 02 'Now Here'.

I'm trying to determine if I want the dramas enough to purchase the Japanese editions. But I want to listen to them first before I make the decision. (Though the follow up to this decision will happen when my credit card is over halfway paid off...which will be a little while.)

So if anybody can find them for me, I would really, really appreciate it. And I will be posting more music when either my newest CD purchase arrives or when I get my CDJapan order in late March/early April.

So, although Geneon has not licensed and released the Fafner -Right of Left- OVA, I downloaded it. Today was the day I managed to finally watch it. And ooh, boy, does it try to rip your heart out.

OVA Premise and Description. Spoilers for the OVA and TV series within. )

Yes, I cried at this ending too. What of it? :P  )

Hopefully, Geneon will decide to release this for a decent price. It's only an hour after all. But I can't think of any OVAs that has been released after the main series has been done by them. (You know, besides Hellsing.)

*wails* Fafner Ending ramblings )

Overall, this is a very good series. And I totally understand why Fafner has to be marathoned, or watched very closed together. I have to thank AoD forum user Dagger for getting me into this series. It was her promoting it that got me interested in it. Not that she will see this here, but I have to thank her anyways. Which I will do so on the forums later today if I get a chance with all the books coming in.

And it was truly touching, the friendship or more *cough*, between Kazuki and Soshi. And all of the character development and the friendships that developed over the series.

So, I finished it. After much saying that I should, I've finished it. *sniff*

(Also, hehe, a quick search on JPQueen, where I've gotten doujinshi from before and will again, reveals that the prevalent doujinshi for Fafner is Kazuki and Soshi pairings. Heee)

So, should I watch Gankutsuou next?

*cries*

Dammit! It did cliffhang!

Disc six... *sniff* )

Have to finish this now. I can't leave this volume when there's only three episodes left to go. *sniff*
riari: (KH2 Demyx Keep to the Beat)
Hee, watched disc five already of Fafner. I'm about to start on disc six. I'm vaguely hoping that it won't cliffhang between six and seven. Because if it does, I have to watch it all tonight.

Rambling about Fafner v. 5 )

I need some more icons dammit. Particularly some Fafner or Ergo Proxy ones. ^_^

Now off to watch disc six!
riari: (KH2 Real Men Marluxia)
So, I crammed in watching Ergo Proxy v. 2 and Fafner v. 4 and while I'm quite glad I did...

Wait...wait...

Daedalus is a GUY?!?! How the hell did I miss that one? I'm usually pretty good about catching these things!

Ahem.

Well, Ergo Proxy is interesting. Volume 2 took it the series in a strange direction, but the whole world is strange right now and I'm just going along for the ride. Still waiting to see how it goes before I start buying the DVDs.

And I am so damn glad I decided to re-watch Fafner v. 4 before moving on with the series. There was soooooo much information thrown about in this volume. (Though Soshi wearing the hot outfit was in disc 3... *sigh*) Really though...these two main characters are a little too close. (In a good way. ^___^ Though I could just be seeing it like that and not as the series intends.)

It was a bit strange watching the brightly colored Fafner then watching the dark-toned and dreary Ergo Proxy.

Now I need to catch some sleep. Didn't realize it would take this long to watch both of them. Though Ergo Proxy had to be returned today...

Hey [livejournal.com profile] mwerevu! A new cute girls with weapons anime is being released next year. Saint October. <--Japanese site for it.

In other new anime news:

This anime character designs reminds me of Kannazuki no Miko for some reason.

Les Miserable is being made into an anime. There's already a Romeo and Juliet one. Why not make more of the classics?

Another Jojo's Bizarre Adventure anime is getting made, this time a movie.

More Giant Robo.

I'm feeling better. Sinuses still bothering me a little, but much reduced in my suffering from them compared to earlier this week. Mentally, this was the first day this week outside of Monday that I was able to actually concentrate on things. Still pretty much just read forums at work, but since I was recovering, I didn't have to shift around bookcases.

But, I will be so damn happy when my ear pops. Seems they have accumulated fluid again and while this happens every so often when I'm sick, my left ear will not pop right now. Erg.

In not sickness related news, Jump Fiesta has given us new information about Kingdom Hearts Final Mix+. Try visiting [livejournal.com profile] maiki's LJ at this post, for some info. Also this community [livejournal.com profile] 0kingdom_hearts has two posts over the event.

For fun, please visit BlackLillian's DeviantArt page to see the ongoing Thirteen Days of Christmas. She also has some funny and neat art. And another 12 Days of Christmas is going on at [livejournal.com profile] yuukihikari. The first day is sooo cuute!

In the "oh my poor credit card" news, RightStuf has completed (I hope) their 12+ Days of Christmas Sale. I say hope since I already have quite a few I'm eyeing there. Soo many good deals. (Hey, Samurai Champloo is awesome enough to buy at $80, right?)

Also, I picked up Zelda: Twilight Princess for the Cube today. ^_^

It Begins!

Rightstuf has started their 12+ Days of Christmas sale. This is the sale to watch for really, really good discounts and bundles until Christmas. First two items are put up already and we have the rest of the month to go. So definitely keep an eye on it.

(I wonder how bad they will get me this year.)

OMG! We got in the first collection of Voltron yesterday at the store. We're playing it right now on the TV. And we're having so much fun right now. Of course, I have to comment muchly, because I do that, and Ronin Warriors and Voltron both inspire many comments.

Video-wise, yeah, its from the 80s, but it looks really good for animation that old. Media Blasters cleaned it up a bit before releasing it. The first collection has fifteen episodes and comes in a tin case with the Blue Lion on the front. The second one is going to have the Yellow Lion on the front. It will probably have five collections with the route they're going with the Lions. But that's just awesome.

I was just going to rent it, but watching it again made me realize that I want to purchase it so the next time RightStuf has a Media Blasters sale, I'm so going to order it. (They beat my discount here on those sales.)

It's nostalgia, and its cheezy fun. ^_^

Btw, Media Blasters will be releasing this in the original Japanese next year. They're just releasing the English version first. So, its dub only, but that's what Voltron is.

Clamp chibi figures! Damn you CLAMP!!! (and Movic for making them) Supposed to be eight sets released between the first one linked and 2008. 40 figures in all. *grumble* And I'll probably buy them all too. Sucker that I am for CLAMP stuff I like.

Also, check out this awesome sale! Make sure to read all the restrictions, but this Geneon sale from Rightstuf.com is very awesome. It basically makes the ones listed for the sale about $4-5 each. Which is really damn good for Geneon DVDs since that particular company does not release cheap DVDs or boxsets.

And if you have any interest in purchasing the R.O.D. TV series DVDs, this bundle is for you. At $80 for all of the DVDs and the two soundtracks, this is a great deal. But don't wait too long. It's got a counter on it and that means that once they run out, that's it.

The figure I wanted last post? Is going to be brought over here by Diamond. So, I can totally order it. Woo!

Soooo, Fuhrer President King Bradley...

How many leadership names do you need to make sure people know that you're the head honcho?

Augh, sinuses! Quit continuing to mutiny!

And, like every phone here has died of battery today. WTF?!?!

So, Anime Expo news is very encouraging. Bandai announced .hack//Roots which the anime prequel to .hack//GU (from my understanding). Tokyopop has announced that they have some ADV manga titles, like Tactics and are bring out the first part of Peacemaker and Aqua (which is the prequel to Aria). They also announced Gakuen Heaven (though I suspect this is the King manga one and not the newly released Nakajima one), Viz announced that the Hikaru no Go anime is going to be released bi-monthly instead of the current quarterly schedule. First volume of Bleach is being released in November. Geneon announced the first volume of Hellsing Ultimate for release on December 5th.

I just finished watching Fullmetal Alchemist volumes five and six.

All I have to say about it is: woah, that's just...wow.

(Need processing time, so I might post about it again later but that was a lot of info shoved into two discs.)

I have a feeling that this series is now really getting going. I'll be watching volume seven tomorrow.

Also, according to the Leaky Cauldron, Box Office Mojo is reporting that Goblet of Fire is the tenth highest grossing movie of all time. Narnia is currently listed at 30. Let's see how high it can climb.

ETA: Also, need to make that database I've been thinking about lately. I'm starting to forget what I already have since half of my books are behind other books. *shifty look* And my doujinshi...

Woah

You know the Fafner DVD I mentioned in the last post? That I was going to start watching volume two last night?

I watched it. It cliffhanged horribly. I couldn't leave it there so I put volume three in and watched it. Finished the two at 4am in the morning and decided that I needed the sleep. So I pushed watching volume 04 until the night. And wow...

That was a hell of a volume.

Fafner spoilers...still awesomely in shock )
