Hee, watched disc five already of Fafner. I'm about to start on disc six. I'm vaguely hoping that it won't cliffhang between six and seven. Because if it does, I have to watch it all tonight.
About disc five, holy crap was that an awkward conversation between Soshi and Kazuki. And after saving the island, Kazuki gets thrown into the mental holding jails. Figures huh?
And Soshi wears the hot outfit to school. He must be beating people off with a stick... ^__^
So, lots happened this volume again, but it was a slower one versus the previous two volumes. More character development and intregrating the renegade Human Force soldiers into their peaceful island. I liked how Canon was slowly brought into the group of friends.
And the "trial"... Hilarious. Here I was wondering how they were going to get around the accusation of falsifying Tomi's data and then all the pilots show up to say they falsified her data. Makabe's response to his son not having a proper excuse thought up was just hilarious. And Tsubaki Minashiro showing up as a defendent with the people going, "You can't use her! It's like God has come to court!" Awesome.
Also, sure, color coding the Fafners is a great idea (not new to the genre but great for viewers to identify), and yes the female suits are indeed pink, but why does Tomi's Fafner has the most loudest magenta color I've ever seen in a mech? *headdesk* Neat info was given though about Mark Sein (Kazuki's new Fafner) not allowing anyone else to pilot it.
Koyo's reappearance was a bit shocking. It's nice with all the death counts happening in the earlier part of the series, that someone that was assumed to die didn't.
Stop pushing Kazuki and Tomi together peoples! Really. It does seem that the friendship between Kazuki, Soshi, and Tomi is quite strong. Even if Soshi would back out if the two did decide to get together. And how he couldn't put Tomi into battle if Kazuki was already fighting.
So overall, good volume. I'm sure tragedy is up ahead though.
I need some more icons dammit. Particularly some Fafner or Ergo Proxy ones. ^_^
Now off to watch disc six!
