So, I have finished it. The last book in the series. Man what a ride.

Chapter 31:

The Gray Lady and the Bloody Baron. I bet they don't interact much now.

Yay Hagrid!!

Plant warfare!! And where are Hermione and Ron? Maybe Moaning Myrtle's
bathroom? Time for the Chamber of Secrets once again?

AHahaha!! Yes indeed for the Chamber of Secrets!! Go RON!!

*laughs* Hermione kissing Ron!! That was hilarious with Harry trying to remind them that there's a war going on.

Fire, from a spell or from the room? And Ron's yelling about killing Harry if they die for saving the others...priceless.

From a spell then, and Crabbe paid a price for it. Another Horcrux down.

Oh...oh Fred. *Sniff*

Chapter 32:

For once Hermione advocating Harry to use that connection. Last resort but the only way to track Voldemort.

Draco, Draco... They keep saving your life don't they.

Trelawney!! Hahaha, knew those crystal balls were good for something!!!

Spiders...Hagrid...??

Dementors!

Hee! "Are you a wizard, or what?" I saw you in the first book.

Snape...I mean, I had figured she would kill him. But not for this reason.
Voldemort killing Snape because he had killed Dumbledore and that the Elder
Wand wouldn't work as legends told till he had. What was that at the end..?

Chapter 33:

Oh god. Remus and Tonks... *cries* Their poor child.

Snape & Lily! Wow, they knew each other as children.

And throughout Hogwarts it seems...

And that's cold. Very cold, Dumbledore.

And I figured that there might be a piece of Voldemort's soul stuck in Harry.

Snape was running on Dumbledore's plans. I had thought so. I assume he was saying that he wanted to find Harry so often in front of Voldemort to help protect him. Who knows at this point. And dammit I think I missed something about what the Carrows mean. Were those the two Death Eaters or something else?

Chapter 34:

Oh Harry.

Definitely half the cast.

And oh that's heartbreaking, bringing them back.

Bye Harry.

Chapter 35:

Not dead...?

And that's very confusing about the enchantment still alive with Voldemort.

Oh tricky daydreams of realism. ^_^ Yeah that sentence didn't make sense. But I just read that section and its...yeah...

Chapter 36:

Harry, this had better be a fantastic plan you have to make them believe you are dead.

Good job, Neville!

Wow, kill off Harry Potter and you have everybody gunning for you.

Holy crap, Mrs. Weasley!!

And down goes Bellatrix. Didn't you learn anything from Sirius?

And he exonerates Snape at the end. Yay.

...what? Draco Malfoy was the next master of the Elder Wand? Yeah, I guess so. Huh.

And Voldemort dies. The Wand did him in.

Go Kingsley!! I think he would do good as Minister.

Oh, the Malfoys found their son. Good. And how the hell did the Sword of Gryffindor find Neville?

And Harry got his wand back. Good decision. Now Hermione and Ron know everything Harry knows.

Epilogue:

Albus Severus... *squee* Harry's named his children after the victims of the two wars. Severus being the bravest man he knew... I was so hoping that Severus Snape would not be tossed aside by this book.

Ginny & Harry, Hermione & Ron - all had kids. Nice ending. I'm glad she gave us an epilogue.

Other comments:

As mentioned above, I'm so glad that Snape was vindicated. That there was a reason he killed Dumbledore. Snape may be a lousy teacher, and a strict discplinarian, but he grew on me. (Watching the movies first may have been a part of this.) You could see in the Prince's Tale chapter that at first his working relationship with Dumbledore was one of distrust. He did it all for Lily. And further scenes showed that Dumbledore and Snape had formed a friendship. That Snape could come up to Dumbledore's office and rant and rave about Harry. We saw that there was a reason that Dumbledore knew Snape would never betray him, and why he could not tell the reason to Harry. I had a feeling Snape would die, but I had a little hope that he would survive. But, this way...I'm okay with this way.

I think we did lose half the cast by the end of it.

Someone had mentioned that part of what Harry was losing with some of deaths in the previous books (hope I'm remembering/summarizing right) was the love of a father. Sirius, Dumbledore, both of them could have been a fatherly-presence in Harry's life and they couldn't/choose not to be. Even Remus could have been but he was killed in this book. I believe that's true. I know I was going somewhere with this but I lost my train of thought. Gah.

Was there anything not cleared up? All I can think of is the Veil in the Department of Mysteries... Why do they have a Veil that's pretty much instant death?

And all those guesses of Sirius returning were true, as he did, for just a little bit. Dumbledore left them fumbling in the dark for so long.

Wow, what a book. This book was definitely one of the best. It'll take some time to digest it all but wow. As mentioned above, I started reading this series after the second movie came out. That was when book four was the latest in the series. I've watched three new books come out since then. And of course the movies. Man, this book, which I'm sure some of the fumbling around for Horcruxes will be cut a bit, but man this will make one hell of a movie.

Probably will be more comments about this book. I need to think about it more. Digest it a bit since I plowed through it so fast. Feel free to comment and discuss. Now to go take a shower then see how others feel about the ending given to us.
