Iditarod and Good Eats
Oct. 28th, 2008 09:54 pmBeen watching a new series that Discovery is doing. I didn't bother to watch the deadliest catch or whatever it was. The fishing one. I'd only see it a bit when I went into the living room/kitchen area to get something because my parents were watching it.
But Discovery now has a series about the Iditarod. Why I missed the first episode I don't know. Think I forgot really. But I've been interested in the Iditarod since Junior High where a couple of books I was reading covered it. It's fascinating and it's tough. But I caught an episode of the Iditarod series last week on its early morning repeat run as I was trying to sleep. So I totally didn't get the sleep I wanted to until after the episode was over with.
I think they're only into the third episode this week. So I'm not too far behind I think. But the mushers are roughly 700 miles from Nome, Alaska, which is the finish line. It's really interesting. I would like to get the DVD when it's released. Next episode is on the 11th though. And looking at the calendar I can see why. Because next week the episode would have been aired on election day.
Oh! And Good Eats last night. Of course this week is Halloween week on Food Network and the Good Eats episode was a Sweeney Todd take on mincemeat and shephard's pie. I was very amused.
Oh, speaking of Sweeney Todd, in a way, do you know that Tim Burton is now working on an Alice in Wonderland movie?
Oooh, Indiana Jones episode of Myth Busters tomorrow.
