So, what was their inspiration again?
Jul. 25th, 2006 02:09 amToday in City of Heroes, I ran some missions that were neat. And one ran me into a graveyard, so being the scaredy-cat that I am (is that how you spell it?), I asked
mwerevu to tag along.
Which, wasn't so bad...much better with company. Then we decided to visit Dark Astoria.
While I was too freaked to take any screenshots, which is what I usually do for new and unusual zones, it was definitely an experience. And...dammit, it is interesting! In the whole "this hint of an explanation for why Dark Astoria is the way it is" interesting way. Dammit. Also, damn me for liking and wanting to know the history about the areas. Seeing books float/walk by themselves and seeing the carrier in the lamplight/fog isn't something that should interest me...maybe it's the book really. Wonder if any of the CoH novels are going to cover or hint why and how Astoria became that way. Or does the game cover that?
It's the story. Really. Not the scary leftovers of the residents... Really, really not that one. *shiver*
I do like the fog effect though. Works even better when the world details are down to 80% or less. ^_^
