Wait what...?
So I'm reading an article about the MD5 security algorithm being cracked, which by the way has been known for YEARS, and this sentence pops up at me:
"Until now, however, the vulnerability was dismissed as a theoretical possibility due to the amount of PlayStation 3 game consoles at a cost of $657."
What the hell? Maybe I'm not all awake yet, but what the hell do PS3s have to do with a security algorithm? Luckily, I'm not the only one. The commentors are also confused.
I am amused though that I knew that MD5 had been broken already. Thank you, security course in college. I wonder why AES isn't being used though. It's not been broken. Or maybe it is. I certainly don't know.
