The Wind Waker Commentary 02

Also, Parts = days played. Even if it was only for a few hours.

Part Two:

-Ah, so the Kokori turned into wood-like people after the sea rose. Hyrule is under the sea it is then. The directors did say that Wind Waker was about 100 years past Ocarina of Time, child future anyways.

-Of course they can't do their ceremony without Makar. Whose's conveniently missing. Bah. Off we go to the rescue!

-And we can fly now! Good thing we have the Wind Waker. Wind direction changing for the win!

-One very, very aggrivating section of the forest dungeon kept me there for I think 10 mins. It sucked due to the way the geometry worked. I think someone didn't quite work it just right. Ah well, at least I got past it.

-So, the big ceremony is for Makar, the Korok we saved, to play the leaf fiddle and help the Deku tree make seeds. Then they Korok fly off to take the seeds else where. Oooookay. Well, at least they are trying to reforest the sea areas.

Part Three:

-Sailing, sailing and more sailing. Decided to do more side quests but this particular one is taking a lot of time. Because it depends on the phase of the moon. Bah.

Part Four:

-Well, much, much sailing around has gotten most of my sea map filled out.

-And oh damn. The island where the next pearl is supposed to be, has been wrecked. The protector there has fled. But the Rito postman Quill tells us that the protector is on Outset Island. Yay home! He also accidentally told the pirates about that too, since he went there first to try to find us. Onto Windfall Island! That's where the pirates are at now.

-Well, they're definitely there. Stealing bombs to open a way to the treasure on Outset Island. Tetra noticed Link spying on them, but she didn't say anything. Though after getting bombs ourself, now it's a "race" to get there first.

-Huh, the Red King mentions that it's been night since we discovered the island. Raining too. which is interesting as we covered a huge chunk of the sea and that takes several days usually. Time is frozen. Which since the pirates were going to sail at dawn that works out for us. Time to visit family!

-Hoooo, what the hell have they been feeding that pig. We caught a wild black piggy for a lady and now it's freaking huge.

-Aw, how nice. Our grandmother, after helping her with a fairy, is making soup for us. It fills up both magic, health and gives us a boost until Link gets hit.

-Hooray! Easy pearl. All we had to do is use our new cannon to bomb the opening and talk to the protector. Though his words were all in old Hylian which chibi!Link can't understand. Languages evolve over time ya know.

-Link seems to be smacking into things a lot lately. So, we put all the pearls into place. The statue looked liked it was going to explode. So Link jumped down. But then nothing happened. So he got close to it again, and that's when it exploded, sending Link flying and revealing a orange girl/spirit within. Which a beam was shot to the other statues, revealing their spirits, and a giant triangle formed. The triforce. Then a huge tower rose from the sea, and Link smacked into the rising wall.

-Now we're facing the trial of the gods. Huh, hope this is the way to get the Master Sword. The blade of evil's bane.

Part Five:

-Tower of the Gods. Interesting dungeon so far. Water rises and ebbs, as it is resting at sea level, and there are parts where we have to time the tasks with the water.

-One level up and now we're playing find that idol. Heh.

-Woo! The hero's bow.

-It's nice of a boss to give you arrows when you run out.

-Wooooooaaaaaah. Hyrule was sunk beneath the sea. Way, way, way, way below the sea. See, at the top of the tower, Link rung a bell. And a glowing light appeared in the ring at sea level of the Tower. The King of Red Lions entered the ring with Link and they sunk below the sea. Luckily, the beam of light allowed Link to breathe, otherwise the story would end here.

But, Hyrule Castle, is at the bottom of the sea, in a frozen time. There are enemies everywhere, but frozen. I have a feeling I'm going to have to fight them, once I find the Master Sword.

-Welcome to the chibi Master Sword. ^_^

-Aww shoot. Time has returned to the castle. I figured that. Well, the goddesses froze the castle because a hero had not appeared. (I'm guessing.) Once you pull the Master Sword out, you're pretty much the legendary hero. It's kinda like the sword in the stone for marking kinghood. Nice of them to have the sword's resting place underneath the statue for the legendary hero. This Hyrule seems much more aware of the legendary hero tale versus like Twilight Princess' Hyrule.

-Nice. The stained glass windows where the Master Sword rested has all of the sages from Ocarina of Time.

-Well, time is flowing again. Time to clear the castle.

-I wonder where the royal family is. There were only monsters in the castle proper. And Hyrule is most certainly still there. It seems to be protected by a barrier. Even the tallest mountains near the castle seem so deep underwater.

-Oooh, according to the King of Red Lions, we can go get our sister now. Yay! But first, a few side quests.

-Forbidden Fortress. Part Two! A lot easier this time around. It's amusing to see Link all fearfully sneaking in to where the missing girls are kept. Understandable. Last time the Helmaroc King grabbed me and threw me in the ocean.

-Annnnd Tetra shows up. Is she stalking me?

-Woah. Lots of plot all of a sudden. We rescue Aryll, Tetra shows up and takes the girls away. We defeat the Helmaroc King and go up the steps to confront Ganon. "Return to the world below and tell them. The sword has lost its power and its edges are dull." In other words, it's useless against Ganondorf in its current incarnation. Tetra tries to help us when Ganondorf is about to kill us, but she's caught. Ganon recognizes the Triforce resonance, and calls her Zelda. We're saved with Rito postmen comeby and rescue us. Valoo, the guardian dragon, sets fire to the place.

-We're back at the Tower of the Gods. And we're going back to Hyrule. It'll be safer there I guess.

-Surprise! Tetra is Princess Zelda. I must say, it's a little weird to see the pirate Tetra in Zelda's traditional garb. With makeup and less of a tan. Huh. Though the painting that they were in did seem familiar at the time.

-Hundreds of years ago, Hyrule, in its darkest hour, prayed to the gods for help. The gods brought down rain to submerge the kingdom to keep it safe and to seal Ganon away. "So long as Ganondorf was not revived, Hyrule would remain below, never waking from its slumber." But they did not keep the people there. They chose people to start a new country and told them to head to the mountain tops. They are Link's and Tetra's ancestors. The islands are these mountaintops, since they are tall enough to poke out of the sea. The King of Hyrule Daphnes Nohansen Hyrule, also known as the King of Red Lions, is helping us as the ship. He would have never revealed himself, if the Master Sword hadn't lost its power. Guess what we're going to have to do?

-And we leave Tetra/Zelda down where the Master Sword used to rest. She's supposedly safe there since Ganon doesn't know about that chamber.

-Ganon called the Master Sword a key, that besides being known as the blade of evil's bane it is also seals his powers. That while it was in place resting, Hyrule was safe of sorts. Pulling the blade has broken the seal.

-Have I mentioned how the Great Fairies look like? They're very Hindu based. Four arms and lotus flowers. Dark with white hair, and they have no feet. Their dress spirals down and ends. They give me good stuff though. :>

-"When the Hero of Time was called to embark on another journey and left the land of Hyrule, he was separated from the elements that made him a hero." Majora's Mask, perhaps? Of course the Triforce of Courage decided to split itself into eight pieces. It's a Zelda game. Nothing's that easy around here. (Well, except for that one pearl. But that was randomly easy.) And of course, we need the Triforce of Courage to reopen the gateway to Hyrule. Great. So we left Zelda down there with no way to get back to the Great Sea. Great.

-Though, I must say, now that I have the Ballad of Gales, its a lot easier to get around the Great Sea.

-The Queen of the Fairies is much younger this time around. She's still a child, with a stuffed Great Fairy-like animal. Though she does say that we're her type. Aww, the Queen's hitting on Link.
