It's tough on the scientists, though. We all know how Galileo was persecuted for his studies. Darwin himself was quite nervous when first discussing his radical new theories of evolution, and would get completely tongue-tied when presenting his case. To relax, he started having a shot of gin before speaking, and this was just enough to calm him down. It was often referred to as the hurried gin of the speeches.
